Johannes Heldén

Johannes Heldén (f. 1978 i Katrineholm) er en svensk poet, musiker, og lyd- og billedkunstner bosatt i Stockholm.

Heldén er har studert ved Soros Centre of Contemporary Art i Moskva, Kanazawa School of Art i Japan, og har en MA i kunst fra Valands konsthögskola i Gøteborg. Siden debuten i 2003 med Burner har han gitt ut sju diktsamlingar, fem album, fire digitale tekstverk, hatt flere soloutstillinger og deltatt på gruppeutstillinger ved blant annet Bonniers Konsthall, Moderna Museet og Malmö Konstmuseum. Han har også bidratt på flere kompilasjoner og i antologier. Våren 2013 publiserer Heldén det digitale prosjektet Evolution (www.textevolution.net , i samarbeid med Håkan Jonson), hvor en artifisiell intelligens analyserer Heldéns tekster og kontinuerlig skaper ny poesi. Han er også aktuell diktsamlingen Ljus (2013). Flere av hans arbeider er tilgjengelige fra hans hjemmeside.

In recent years my artistic practice, both as visual artist and author, has been about narrative systems, SF and entropy – nature always being present, as promise or threat. In my work I let nature and technology meet, to create meaning and new structures in the flow of information, structures to point out cracks where new possibilities, in language and aesthetically, can shine through and create order in chaos. Each artwork becomes a fictive system, it’s main operators being technology and nature, hope for the future and dystopia.
